The Rapid Antigen Covid-19 test is performed by deep nasal swab. People use this test for convenience and a positive result is 94% accurate. This test is best used when you have symptoms and is not generally used for clearance on airlines. Some countries are now allowing this for travel clearance but please be sure of this if choosing this option. This test can have false negatives so it is important to discuss with your physician which test is right for you if you are testing because of symptoms or exposure.
Why use same day covid-19 testing? Testing for travel or clearance for work or return to school may not be covered through your insurance and you will likely need test results in a timely manner. Normal turnaround time is generally 3-5 days. Our same day Covid-19 RT-PCR testing turnaround time is within 9-12 hours and guaranteed - if testing after 11:30 your results will be back the next day around 7 pm. A superbill with date of service, test code and reason for test will be provided to submit to insurance after your results return. We do not guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company for the PCR test, however if you have symptoms of coronavirus or direct exposure to someone with coronavirus, insurance generally does cover a portion or all of the cost of the test. Please note health insurance companies do not generally cover the rapid COVID-19 or PCR test for asymptomatic individuals that do not meet certain criteria. More information regarding this will be provided once you email or text for an appointment. **There are no refunds for missed or re-scheduled or cancelled appointments**It is your responsibility to make sure you are getting the correct test for example most airlines do not accept rapid antigen covid-19 test for clearance to fly
PCR test. Also called a molecular test, this COVID-19 test detects genetic material of the virus using a lab technique called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A fluid sample is collected by inserting a long nasal swab (nasopharyngeal swab) into your nostril and taking fluid from the back of your nose or by swabbing inside the cheek and back of mouth (oropharyngeal swab) to get a sample. The RT-PCR test for COVID-19 is the most accurate and reliable test for diagnosing COVID-19. A positive test means you likely have COVID-19. A negative test means you probably did not have COVID-19 at the time of the test. This test is best used at day 3-7 days of symptoms. When searching, where can I get fast PCR COvid-19 results, we are your answer! The most common test we use for this at Resolve MD/DM Covid-19 Test is DPTM. The DTPM COVID-19 RT-PCR Test has not been FDA cleared or approved; it has been authorized by FDA under EUA200086 for use by authorized laboratories; it has been authorized only for detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2, not for any other viruses or pathogens; and it is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of in vitro diagnostics for the detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-b(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner.
Also called the Antigen test. This COVID-19 test detects certain proteins in the virus. Using a long nasal swab to get a fluid sample, some antigen tests can produce results in minutes (at Resolve MD detection in 15 minutes) but there's an increased chance of false-negative results — meaning it's possible to be infected with the virus but have a negative result. Depending on the situation, the doctor may recommend a PCR test to confirm a negative antigen test result.
Best tested between day 1 and 5 of symptoms. *If you have symptoms and have a negative test the CDC recommends following this test with a PCR test.
If you are asymptomatic this test can have a high false negative rate and should not be used to give a false sense of security that you do not have coronavirus. Some studies show a false negative rate at high as 50 percent.
